I've been meaning to post this one here for years. Unfortunately it stands no chance among 99% of listeners anywhere.
The reason I must post it though is because there are sections of this 39 minute song I've gone deeper into than nearly any other music I've heard in my life. 23:30 is an achievement. I've heard it countless times.
It fascinates me that two sets of human ears can be so different. One set will hear worthless noise and another can hear something very special that warrants more than 100 listens. I think this band knows exactly what it's doing and has some incredible ideas.
One section of this song is annoying to me though. It is 7:20 through 17:00. It drags on way too long.
Also, the opening section eventually begins to incorporate short bursts of unique sounding guitar amp feedback. After many many listens the sequence of these feedbacks begins to sound so right for building into the next section of the song.

Lol tbh Mike I'm only noticing it now but I'd say you're right about the drumming. Id never heard anything from those links you posted, it doesn't really grab me, but I'll try a few times to give it a proper shot.
Fair enough, Martin.
Well here's another quick example of Aluk Todolo's work. It's all quite out there but really catches my ear and imagination.

I can actually listen to this and enjoy. Its not what I usually listen to and just confirms to my girlfriend what weird music I enjoy. With regards to Terry one of the most underrated players

The first track of that album is a bit interesting, Mike, though not sure if there's enough to jump out a grab an ear there.
But I had a vision to it, driving late at night after work. There's a ominous sounding bassline in that one that occurs every so often that sounded like I was in a house and I could hear it crossing the floor upstairs to come down to get me. Just an odd creation they have there.
Could you hang with 21:15 here?
