There are a handful of albums that I know and love that sound almost like background music. An ex-gf used to call it elevator music.
In that case maybe something like this isn't meant to be sat and listened to with complete focus.
My best sessions with this album were when driving up winding roads late at night along the beaches of New Hampshire and exploring backroads trying to find my way to the main road.
Tracks like Inside, Heaven, 1984, Follow Me were just a perfect backdrop for that weather and place and the breeze. I'd highly recommend the track 'Heaven'.

Cheers The musicianship is good. I give it a try later but from the brief listen I wonder if I can enjoy it

Some of it has the vibes of St Germain.
I'll need to hear this on the big rig.

I like what I hear so far, can imagine enjoying it in the car - preferably not on the M1.

Sounds a lot like Fragile State - a good thing One of Neil Cowley's involvements
Voices from the dust bowl and Remixes/Classics well worth having

Thank you for taking a listen guys. Wow, Mike this Fragile State is pretty good.I'm listening to 'four-four-four'.
I adore this Xaver Fischer Trio album. It's follow up though not as much and one glaring issue with that one, that I actually didn't notice in the CD version of this one, is as Mike mentioned, a strange tape in and out variation quality to the music that is too distracting to tolerate.
Massive fail on their part if it actually sounds that way on that second CD of theirs.

A solid 3/5. There's nothing to dislike, but equally, there's not enough to set the old pulse racing either. Track 1 brought to mind "Hot Butter (remember "Popcorn") plays Kraftwerk, but after that, it just dissolved into uptempo Dinner Kazz. OK so there was with vocals, Uptempo Dinner Jazz with a bit of Vangelis on the side, Uptempo Dinner Jazz with Jaco, Uptempo Dinner Jazz with Jow Zawinul, Uptempo Dinner Jazz with Victor Wooten, but yeah, Uptempo Dinner Jazz. It's not something I'd sit down to listen to exclusively, but decent background music all the same.
A bit of Trivia for you - Bandleader Xaver Fischer played keyboards for Krautrockers Birth Control, if anyone remembers them, and Hannes Vesper is still playing bass for them after a two-year hiatus from 2000 to 2002.

Very cool baby. Wow that is a trip to hear Xaver's sound but with another group. Thanks Paul I'd never heard of them. Speaking of background music let's hear one that is the opposite of background music. You got anything like that Paul?
