Cant believe it was 2016 when i joined this fourm. Always reading but seldom posting. So heres my update, ive compressed it , dont want to bore anyone Anyhoo Vynil -did that in the 70s Then replicated the lot on cd Then SSD, streaming Roon,Tidal, loved that And then downsized the house to ground flr flat Had a Gato amp, Focal mini utopia speakers which were superb in my last house the lounge was 26ft long And then had a complete dafty I sold my michell hydraulic reference turntable to a friend in 1983, its lived in a box ever since. Got it back' stripped it full refurb, Stuck an sme arm on it Put an audio techinca shiabata cartridge on it (what a cartridge btw) Fully refurbished at Sudgen A48 (not me a friend) Ditton 25s ( full refurb' new crossovers, mundorf caps etc) Ive spent a scary amount of money on albums (im not calling it vyni ffs) And i think i may have nailed it! 1st hifii i ever heard that started me off on this nonesense was a quad 33/303 ditton 44/ thornes td160 Guess the sound is in my bonest as i bought a160 semi auto wiith original arm and the AT Shibata cartridge, again fully refurbished) the deck are going side by side on the wall. The Sugden was always on my radar years ago but never got to it, ive got a quad 44/306 which i bought and have decided to sell as i prefer the Sugden Talk about full circle But there you go thats hifi for you. Thanks for that, Robert. You got there in the end.
So how do you feel with all those albums? Must admit I felt the weight of my collection and the endless purchasing of holes in it.

Agreed, regarding LP's, here we go again,im a huge zappa fan amongst everything else. But my focus at the moment is on Lambchop who i utterly adore. Been fab to get the beatles, nick drake, soft machine, robert wyatt, bill evans, the stones, well the list is bonkers tbh
