I was just playing the DVD Brian Wilson & friends, whilst watching/listening to what transpired was Dolby stereo 2.0. on my Blu-ray Player a Sony 4K BDP S6700 via the Caiman SEG50 Whilst holding the remote in my nurtled grasp, I inadvertently pressed the audio button & up came "LPCM English" I had to scuttle to the other end of the room to turn down the volume, then listened going back & forth twixt the 2 modes, what I heard from LPCM was astounding quality music with incredible detail, smooth & worked with the male & female voices, bass, treble & mids. It seemed to be making the most of my recent RFI/EMI 50hz hum removal. I spent 2 hours swapping modes again. The ambiance etc rivalled my best vinyl.
I looked at Google for LPCM to find it is a step up from Pulse Code Modulation ie the L means linear & is a lossless format. apparently compulsory on Blue-Ray DVD's though BW & F's is not a Blue-Ray DVD. Scanning my collection, I only have a couple of non Blue-Ray DVD's listing LPCM.
Is this the standard to be expected from streaming, if so is there anyway to stream without paying to down load, if so what equipment would I need to feed into my Caiman SEG 50 presumably via it's USB-B connector.
Addendum
I am listening after a month or 2 to the Floyd Blue-Ray The Endless River DVD, I am preferring English LCPM HD Master Audio 2.0chn 96/24 4.6mbs to Dolby DTS HD Master Audio 96khz 5.1 or LPCM 96/24 5.1 @ 13.8mbps.

Spotify but you get ads and nowhere near the quality of Qobuz for sound. How much do you spend on CDs. With streaming it is unlimited access to music.

I'm not surprised LPCM sounds better than Dolby Stereo.
Yes, this is what streaming can achieve, and at higher resolutions than you're hearing.
No, you can't get (legal) streaming for nothing. It isn't too expensive for audio streaming compared with video.

If you want to extract the LPCM file, should you want to put audio file on a server etc,l can recommend this window based program www.dvdae.com/However you may need to take the protection off some discs,by using DVDFAB and creating a ISO copy that removes protection, then run it through www.dvdae.com/
