Presented here is Erik Wøllo’s latest effort, Cloud of Strings, comprised of 12 acoustic guitar pieces. Simple, elegant and well recorded as you would expect from the owner of Wintergarden Studio in Fredrikstad, Norway.

Norwegian musician Erik Wøllo has established himself as a go-to artist for ambient electronica in my music library. A guitarist first and foremost, he typically uses a variety of synths and electric instruments to augment his northern melodies. A prodigious artist with over 50 releases, his musical experience covers a wide range of styles from rock and jazz, to experimental electronic and classical music. He is best known for his unique and personal electronic ambient music.

For me, Cloud of Strings is a gentle auditory transition into a new year full of hope and expectation.
