Has anybody seen the new jbl tt350 turntable? It actually looks quite nice. No reviews on it anywhere yet though. Might be really good, then again might be really crappie 🤔

Aren't JBL still under the Harman Kardon stable? Could be anybody's design.
Some of their speakers are still classics, I wouldn't touch anything else with the brand (e.g. my step-daughter's iPod dock).

I'm not saying they're bad, they just don't stand up to the reputation that JBL built before they sold out.

To me that tt looks like it would have been not far off entry level 40 years ago - 1k doesn't seem to buy you a lot of deck nowadays.

Believe it or not, the hanpin dd pancake motor is actually pretty good. Its all the cast plastic shite that surrounds it that is a bit crap

If I was looking for a deck I would seriously consider the Kenwood KP-9010 Direct Drive advertised elsewhere for 1k. I bet it would kick the JBL's butt ...

Bard Review - bard.google.com/chatThe JBL TT350 Classic has been getting generally positive reviews from critics and users alike, with many praising its build quality, sound performance, and overall value for the price. Here's a summary of the key points: **Strengths:** * **Build quality:** The TT350 is praised for its solid construction with a walnut-veneered MDF plinth, heavy aluminum platter, and S-shaped aluminum tonearm. This gives it a premium look and feel and helps to minimize vibrations for improved sound quality. * **Sound performance:** Reviewers generally agree that the TT350 delivers a warm, smooth, and detailed sound with good dynamics and clear separation of instruments. The Audio-Technica VM95E cartridge is a good match for the tonearm and provides a solid foundation for the sound. * **Ease of use:** The TT350 is easy to set up and use, even for beginners. The auto-start and auto-stop features are convenient, and the adjustable anti-skate and VTA allow for fine-tuning the sound for different cartridges. * **Value for money:** At its price point, the TT350 is considered a good value for the money. It offers features and performance that are typically found in more expensive turntables. **Weaknesses:** * **Some build quality inconsistencies:** A few reviewers have mentioned minor inconsistencies in the build quality, such as uneven feet or slightly misaligned cartridges. However, these seem to be isolated cases. * **Limited upgrade options:** The tonearm is not adjustable for height, which may limit upgrade options for some cartridges. * **No built-in preamp:** The TT350 does not have a built-in phono preamp, so you will need a separate one to connect it to your speakers. **Overall:** The JBL TT350 Classic is a well-regarded turntable that offers good sound quality, build quality, and ease of use for the price. It is a good option for both beginners and experienced vinyl enthusiasts who are looking for a turntable that delivers a warm, smooth, and detailed sound. I think I'd rather have a Pro-Ject.
