I'd like to help build a list of great live albums that make you feel like you're there, in other words approaching the power of a live performance but within the limits of a home environment. I have found recently that my system makes a better fist of playing live albums and am keen to find more great ones. Here are three that I can think of right away: Natalie Merchant - Live in Concert Fink - Wheels Turn Beneath My Feet Janis Ian - Live: Working Without a Net

Some good early entries here.
Colosseum will be good to try. The Bruce Springsteen I played recently and didn't find it as vivid as I had expected.
The Kraftwerk is awesome with some very deep bass, too.
Holly Cole and Patricia Barber are favourites and I'll give those a try, too.

Pretty much any of the MTV Unplugged recordings, buts especially Björk and 10,000 Maniacs.

Now there's someone I have seen live (at the Albert Hall). Thanks, I'll have a listen.

Pretty much any of the MTV Unplugged recordings, buts especially Björk and 10,000 Maniacs. Clapton unplugged is a stupendous live recording. If only he wasn't such a dick...

I saw him at the Albert Hall. The highlight was the surprise guest star Phil Collins on the drums as his band drummer was sick.
