I have been thinking about changing my 5 year old router due to re-buffering problems and wanted, if funds permitted, to improve sound quality at the same time. There are a few expensive audiophile routers that I decided to pass on, then I received this from Fidelizer: fidelizer-audio.com/streamhub-streaming-router/I use the Fidelizer sound enhancer on the computer where my music files are stored and it makes a significant difference so would appreciate some opinions before I purchase one.

As you will find if you search around there are many ways to improve the stream to your music player . In my case I use a Ethernet to Fibre Optic box and then connect using SFP to Netlink Switch using a cisco SFP cable that I was alerted to by Martin . This does everything that I need but other often find a different route . Nigel - The Flash has just recently joined this forum and he has a new venture that he has set up which offers some very heavily worked on network switches you can read the details here www.reikiaudio.com/ . Now I have known Nigel for quite a few years and he is very much a music lover and has some very impressive equipment go through his hands including some very expensive and well reviewed items that he dismissed and got rid of . I say this to that your understand Nigel wants to improve the music that comes out and is not just looking at the technical elements but what the actual sound that comes out does. Nigel is also a very good person to talk to and I would suggest get in touch if you are interested and see what he can suggest .

I'm going to recommend again that you consider a 4G/5G router. The benefits of an air-gapped service are very clear to my ears compared with land-based internet.
You need to do some research, of course, especially with signal strength. I'm now using a TP-Link MR-600 4G+ router with EE 100GB data SIM. Perfect for streaming hi-res music.

Thanks chaps, I don't fancy spending £30 a month on data. Got to watch the pennies now I'm retired.

In my experience while adding audiophile switches and optical links had a big benefit and I would not go back on them. Treating my router as a hifi component gave me big gains also. For context I am running a Draytech router, which does the whole house including WiFi. I added a linear PSU and big jump, added a grounding box into the usb port, another big jump, proper supports and weight on top also brought about gains. I recently swapped the PSU from a Zero Zero to a Plixir balanced and that again gave me a big jump in performance. Now seeing the Fidelizer I can see from the specs that swapping out my Draytech would bring about further gains. I have had my router for about 5 years and it still runs perfectly, which router are you using?

Its an Netgear AC1600 and has become a bit of a nuisance lately. I also find I can't update it-security updates are not accepted. Fidelizer have a more expensive router called the Airstream that has been well received. There are a few nice details about the StreamHub I like, one being that it has a dedicated wi-fi access point. Have a look on their website. I have send it a few questions to the owner and if I get a reply I will put some more info on here.

Yeah, I like the ASUS product. Their router line-up is quality complete & competitive.
