I've had a couple of guest pokes around The Audio Standard, love the vibe and subtitle about connecting people, so knocked on the door.
My name is Nigel and I've been a hifi and music obsessive since... well, at least a few decades ago. My dad came back from town one day with a Sony Quadraphonic receiver/turntable thing, 4 speakers and the obligatory one quadraphonic LP. It quickly became a stereo. He introduced me to the wonderful aesthetics of B&O too; it was on home demo and din't stay but the memory stuck. It wasn't just the hifi though, he also introduced an eclectic breadth of music including Black Sabbath, the Moody Blues and some horrendous James Last...
A couple of years ago I started Reki Audio and launched my first product earlier this year which was positively reviewed in HiFi+ and on TNT-Audio. I share that for transparency; I remain first and foremost an enthusiast and that's the side of me you'll see here.
I'm northeast of Melton Mowbray and have welcomed many fellow audiophiles here for some tunes and a brew. PM me if you're anywhere near and I'll put the kettle on.
Looking forward to participating in forum life.
Nigel

Hi, Nigel. Welcome to the home of good audio vibes. Be prepared to tell us all about your system, and your musical preferences. It's sort of a "rite of passage" thing.

Will include info and pics on my Kendal system(s) when I get the hang of the underlying forum tech...

That will be my pleasure. Where's the best place to do this?

Hello Nigel and welcome to TAS. No-one has ever commented on our strapline about connecting people until now, so you win BIG brownie points for that!
Tell us what floats your boat system-wise (and anything else).

Hi Nigel glad to see you here and really pleased that your new venture is going well . It's the day job now, Andrew, so it had better continue! I was made redundant at end Sept and hope to leave fulltime corporate life behind me; my pension provision alone would mean giving up on my Kendal pad which I'm loathe to do, so the idea is to do something I love while making a modest supplementary income. I love problem/puzzle-solving and have realised over last few years that I place more emphasis on aesthetics than I appreciated, so stuff (and I mean the stuff I own and enjoy as well as the stuff I make) simply has to look good as well as sound good. I suspect this was why I fell briefly for the Boenickes!
Speak soon and see you at the Wam show, Nigel

Thanks for the welcome.
That will be my pleasure. Where's the best place to do this? Here's fine, or if you're really feeling ambitious you could also start a new thread telling us about your hifi history. If a man felt ambitious (gulp) which section would be most suitable? I may take the easy option and post here!

What Martin said. A potted (or long-form) history of someone's hifi journey is always interesting. In your own time, obviously, not necessarily straight away.
I'm Paul underneath this nom de guerre plume, by the way.

Not a bad bunch here Nigel. Certainly drew me in.
Very little feather ruffling. And it is devoid of caustic arguments present in other forums.
