I dare say the Adagio is the only piece of music most people would remember coming from Tomaso Albinoni, written around 1715. There is even some doubt as to whether he actually wrote it in full or in part. Be that as it may, it's a wonderfully evocative piece, highly memorable. I first heard it in the UK comedy series Butterflies, but since then it has been used as incidental music in a lot of drama productions. open.qobuz.com/track/211750302

An absolutely gorgeous piece of music. I might even go so far ass to say "sumptuous".

I attempted to post using quotes but failed.
The first time I heard the adagio by Albinoni was as an 18 year old in the 1960's I was deputed to serve tea/coffee and snacks for a Christian Dior autumn fashion display where I worked in an enormous house in Fulham with 40+ acres of grounds initially built in the 1760's through which a giant catwalk was built snaking around tables for 500 diners or so. I was in the locked dressing area for about 6 hours or more surrounded by 20 odd partially and sometimes fully naked gorgeous models as they changed, you can imagine the effect on 18 year old me, every hour or so hearing the adagio being played on speakers quietly in the other rooms.
That night the Adagio in G minor for Organ & strings (on the LP sleeve) was played at the end of the show as a bridal dress was slowly modeled along the catwalk to stunning effect.
I have an amazing memory of the event & not just because of the obvious.

That would indeed have burned the Albinoni in your consciousness!
