Just received notification of a new release of software V2.9 for Rendu devices.
"Sonore and Small Green Computer are thrilled to announce the release of Sonicorbiter OS Version 2.9 for the Sonore Rendu Series Players.
A few reasons why Version 2.9 is amazing:
1. The new version adds supports more DSD devices.
2. The new version has a new low latency USB stack that reworks the way playback starts.
3. Cleaning up the new version by removing legacy software that no longer builds correctly (Songcast, YMPD, and Logitech Media Server).
4. This version supports our long term plan to move remote servers away from the Rendu series and on to the sonicTransporter series products where they are much better suited."

As you may know I have had 2.9 for a couple of months..
I thought I'd get 2.8 as their info at the time said nothing about a newer version, and they sent 2.9.
I'm on 2.8 at the moment.. they sent that to me as 2.9 didn't resolve the what I'll describe as 'overloaded track handling issues'.
Might go back to 2.9 again to try it..

I asked about an updated version of 2.9.
Once you have the major version, updates within that can be done OTA.
I'll give that a go.
Here's the response I received,
"Steve, you can simply press Update in Software Manager in case there is anything new relative to your version of 2.9.

Good stuff. I've been updating my v2.8 to keep it fresh (and secure) once a month and will continue to do so when v2.9 arrives.
