This is an album from my youth and I can still enjoy it. For me my favourite live album. The other week Iron Maiden opened with Doctor Doctor from the above album and it was just great to see so many people enjoying the classic song. Its not the best recorded album of all time, few rock live albums are. So why do I like the album, first its the classic songs like Love To Love, Doctor Doctor and the amazing Rock Bottom. The fabulous guitar playing certainly helps as well as the vocals I give you the 2008 remaster which is a better master open.qobuz.com/album/mq3jk6lmmjq1b

This is the "July (2)" choice, yes, John?

Placed it to death in the day and still play it regularly. Doctor Doctor is played weekly on Planet Rock.
5/5 for me

Stone cold classic, one of the very best live albums.
Apparently the mercurial axe man Michael Schenker wasn't pleased with all the takes chosen for this recording but his near best was always incredible. I saw UFO around their peak in the early 80's and once in their sunset years. Great band.

I never was a huge fan, so don't know their back catalogue, other than the more famous cuts. I remember buying "Doctor Doctor," for instance, as a clear vinyl single and it still choogles along nicely, as do "Only You Can Rock Me", "Cherry", and "Rock Bottom," 3 tracks on a red vinyl EP I have. Rock Bottom, by the way, was produced by Leo Lyons, of Ten Years After, and I reckon that it strays a bit too close for comfort to Spinal Tap territory in this incarnation. Let it Roll is probably my favourite track, mostly because they seem to be channelling their inner Wishbone Ash, with "I'm a loser" a close second. If I was scoring out of 10 it would get a 7, so I'll be generous and round that up to a 4 out of 5. It does what it says on the tin.

I bought this on vinyl a very long time ago! Though, I wasn't a big fan, I did see them a few times. I actually enjoyed playing this much more than I was expecting to. I really enjoyed the opening to 'Doctor Doctor' and the moment the song kicks in - I'd forgotten how good that was. My favourite track on the album has always been 'Mother Mary'.
Thanks for this choice, John, I enjoyed it. 4/5 from me.

Forgot to update this - 4/5 and really enjoyed revisiting UFO. Saw them once back in the day too, so this was a nice trip down memory lane John

You probably need to be a bit more of a rocker to like it as not for everyone Mike

It's OK - has its moments like Doctor Doctor but I tire of it quickly.

I know this album very well as it was a regular in my various cars in the late 70's and 80's. Funnily I don't find it as good as I did back then, don't get me wrong it is a very good live rock album but somehow that thrashing guitars and quite repetitive song constructs leave me a bit cold now. I was going to give it a 3/5 but decided it is worthy of a 4/5.
By the way UFO I and II are both very good albums, but a slightly different feel, Mr Schenker certainly had an influence on their style when he joined.

Ouch. A real uphill climb for me on this one. Will try again tomorrow and see if anything shakes out.
