I now have a Marantz model 30 amplifier. The Atoll in200 i had kept losing a channel so it went back. Ok the Marantz I read about class d how people aren't so keen on it. So I was a bit skeptical when it arrived but the shop said give it a try. Anyway this amp has really surprised me, its on the warmer side of sound (if that's how you put it) very nice sound. The built in phono stage is superb which is a bonus no more wires, leads and boxes to deal with, it drives magnepan. 7 speakers with ease. But yeah a nice smooth powerful sound, Marantz really have sorted Class D. Has anybody else tried one of these amps and how did you get on with it?

Good find. Class D has improved a lot since it was invented. I evaluated the KJF Audio Hypex stereo amp a while ago and found it pretty impressive, lacking only in bass power compared with my Belles class AB.

Interesting find - I think traditionally Marantz have produced hifi on the warmer side of neutral but none of the Class D amps I have heard were like this.
