Yes, I thought so except the KEF that probably deserves a high ranking - too small for me, though.
Some of them are not known in the UK. I remember hearing the Zu, it was ok but not what I would call neutral sounding.

The KEF is good value speaker but give me the focal shape 50 The Klpisch is coloured to my ears but can be fun The TADS can be nice or piercing to my ears Most of them I don't really know I personally think every speaker I have heard has its own character Finding a open dynamic tuneful speaker with good bass texture is like searching for a unicorn

I heard a few Zu's and agree about its presentation

He wants speakers with "character" and "personality" - I haven't heard any from his list but I'm suspicious of speakers that try and impose too much of themselves on the music. I'd like them to sound almost invisible in the background, you know, the magical disappearing act where you just hear incredible music and you don't feel you are listening to the speaker at all ...

Like, dude, chill, yeah? He's grooving to his own tune is all, man. Judging a book by its psychedelic cover is way uncool, y'know? Like, it's totally ungroovy, and not at all far out.

Sir Anthony, what's your opinion on the Wilsons?

Sir Anthony, what's your opinion on the Wilsons? Which pairs my fine fellow, most are the in the polished big banger criteria? Though the newer ones are getting better for sure.

I thought the Wilson Sophia sounded pretty damned good when I heard them a few years ago.
The bigger many-driver models didn't sound as coherent.

I was thinking of the Watt Puppys that Mr Guttenberg admires so but I guess they are getting a bit long in the tooth now ...

I love my KEF LS50 Meta's, I don't have a huge room though so they're perfect for that - I don't enjoy listening loud these days either so they never get pushed. Out of all the loudspeakers I've had over the years, which isn't that many in reality, my two favourites are my current LS50's and years ago a pair of JR 149's - so I've pretty much gone back to my youth!

I actually owned a pair of these back in the days late 90's even had the 'Euro' version (resistor pack) to even out the bass response for not so large room swith less soft furnishings.
One thing Wilson's like is power, good quality power, at that time I had Krell FPB 600 mono's so no shortage there. They sound big, full powerful, but can be restrained with the right pairing. Customer who have these and the Sasha's like a bigger sound , as a good customer put in to me yesterday chest thumping upper mid bass maybe 80-150Hz. They are fussy with placement and the stock spikes make it a real bugger to dial them in. They were of their time.
The newer models imho are a step up the Sasha DAW's I could see Martin with these a more refined and bouncy version of the Watt Puppies, seens these a couple of times. Larger version Alexx V again more even handed and room filling tonally they are getting nearer as well now, can sound very good with the right room & amplification.
Sasha II's can be had from £13-16K (proper pair not abused).
You can do a lot worse then these spakers, I can't live with the looks or lack of innate musicality, however lots can and they have been in business for a long time (for audio) so they must be doing something well.
Next Month I'm off the far east to see a client and visit his friend with the WAMM Master Chronosonic so will take some images and if possible a video as well.
Are a certain Mr Hendrix would say ' Are you experinced!'

I haven’t heard most of his favourites, but speakers are a very personal, room dependent choice, so hard to know if I’d like them. I heard the Wilson Audio Watt puppy 5’s at a show powered by a Krell FPB700cx, but they were playing very Hifi show, non complex music that isn’t demanding enough for my liking.
