First taste of summer here is Stockholm today, which was very welcome! As a colleague of mine, from New Zealand, say´s: "Swedish summer, best day of the year!". So, I guess that was it...
Looking forward to learn a lot from this forum and hopefully also give something back.
I am an album lover with a growing interest in improving my hifi setup. I have been an theoretical audiophile most of my life, mostly reading, watching and dreaming. I used to own a Primare setup with B&W speakers but I have been without a proper setup for 15 years (I blame my child) until the pandemic, when i caught the hifi bug again.
My system is modest with XTZ amp, speakers and sub (Swedish brand) and a Yamaha WXC-50 streamer/dac/pre. So far I have played around with power strip, power cables, interconnects, speaker cables and a switch, which has been very interesting!
I also have a secondary setup with amp, speaker, dac and speaker/RCA cables, all from Rega.
Musically I got interested in the early 90´s, which has colored my taste (mostly rock, pop and electronic), but as am getting older I also enjoy Jazz and Classical. I am a very curious listener and try to embrace all sorts of music and try to listen to new releases in "all" genres. A lot of my listening to new releases are done while walking my frech bulldog. I only listen to albums, mostly on Qobuz, but i have my CD collection in my summerhouse.
My goal is to take my streaming sound quality as far as possible, whithout breaking the bank.
See you around!

Hi, Tobias. Welcome to TAS.
I had a Primare amp and CD player, which I liked very much.

Good to have you here Tobias!
You've reminded me now how I've been wanting to visit Stockholm for so long, I really need to get my act together ...
Lots of us have made the move to streaming so you should find plenty to interest you.

Welcome to TAS, Tobias. It was nice to first meet you in the Qobuz Club and I hope you will like it here.
There are more of us than ever using Qobuz, and with a great variety of different system approaches. I'm sure lots of members will jump in and give you guidance.
Enjoy!

Hej Tobias, Welcome.. nice to have more Swedes here🙂

Hello Tobias.
Ooooo, a summer house? I guess you missed the day in it then? Can say that, as I'm from NZ.
I understand blaming your child on stunting your audio growth. Mine lasted 17 years.
Welcome to TAS.

Hi Tobias, Another album player . . . cool, that's all I do, just feels right playing an album rather than assorted tracks - each to their own though There are some serious streamers on the forum and modest ones too, such as myself. Although I do play mostly my own albums which are FLAC files - for streaming it's now Qobuz, just switched over in fact. Enjoy.

A slightly delayed welcome Tobias. Good to have you on board, l am pretty sure your get some good recommendations here on TAS for Streaming without breaking the bank balance. lt's been many years since l been to Stockholm,my brother has been living there for nearly 30 years, lives in a area called 'Nacka' l believe. l always recommend a visit to the Vasa Museum to any Brits going to Stockholm, it makes our Mary Rose shipwreck a joke, it's something to be experienced in the flesh. www.vasamuseet.se/enAnyway good have you hear..Catch you on a thread...Somewhere. Thanks all again, for the warm welcome!
Yes, the vasa museum is amazing. Visiting any of the six yearly Stockholm derby games (football/soccer), which are rather wild and borderline scary..., is an adventure to remember. Going on a few hour cruise in a very old steam boat in the fantastic archipelago is also highly recommended. Visit the Jazz club Stampen (known from the "Live/Jazz at the Pawnshop" recordings) might also be interesting. The ABBA museum is also said to be great (I haven´t been there)

Much more to see I understand. Räkbåten?
