I found myself losing the will to live after around 3.00 to 3:30 of the first video. The second one exceeded the complete and utter bollocks level of the first by a factor of 1.5, or, as we now know that to be, 256.

In contrast I quite enjoyed them both, in fact enough to have a look at his channel and watch a couple of his 'real' videos. I liked his analogue tape ones, especially as I have a fondness for tape recorders (although when I do record audio for anything 'proper' I only used digital - and his videos tell you why!).

I'm not enamoured of his presentation style. What I will say is that digital format is much less important than the care taken over the recording itself. However, for me anyway, even 'CD' quality 16/44 sounds way better over streaming than it ever did as CDs. Go further up in resolution, and there's no comparison.
He makes the same error in talking about just dynamic range increasing when increasing the bitrate as many others. He omits that it's also about pushing the digital artifacts up way above the audio frequency range, making an easier job for the DAC and removing the need for a brick wall filter.
He's also not heard of Qobuz. Oh dear, Tidal is not true uncompressed hi-res.

To be fair, he did say that MQA was lossy.

He certainly made my brain hurt. Kind of like the Ricky Gervais of Hifi, but looks like a relation of Paul McCartney.

I just think he needs a good slap . . . . more irritating than a scratchy scrotum.

To be fair, he did say that MQA was lossy. Understatement of the decade MQA is a solution to a problem that DOESN'T exist
MQA = Music Quashing Algorithm
