Oh goody, son of SLIC has arrived to stimulate further "discussion" Oh dear...
Look, whether a thread is about SLIC cables (which this is, obviously) or any other aspect of 'hifi', this a forum which, by its very nature, exists to discuss stuff relevant to the subject it is dedicated to. For anyone to pollute it with statements designed to restrict discussion on the subject is just plain rude. Seriously folks, if you have no interest in the subject being discussed in a given thread then move on, it's not difficult. Unless of course your intention is to be deliberately obstreperous, in which case you may be in for a wee chat with the mods... Sheesh!!!

Nope. Just got given a set of Tellurium Qs as a borrow. They're the most expensive I've heard. I've got a set of homemade interconnects in just now which cost £2.30. The TQs at £350 are,to me,just not worth it. The SQ difference simply isn't enough to justify the price.
As I've said before(in previous threads) each to their own - it's your money.

So you don't know how good the SLIC sounds then do you Chris as you've not heard a set, correct or not

Bev, if he wants to he will say himself. You shouldn't try to force him. Were all free to say or not say whatever we want, you know? (no offence btw)

I'm not saying they don't sound good. The TQs DO sound better than the homemade numbers but do not justify the price.
Correct is the short answer.

Your opinion is definitely valued and I was trying to introduce some levity into the thread. All I ask is that people don't take these discussions too seriously. Apologies if I have offended anyone.

I thought so Chris
So to be fair you cannot saying the SLIC is worth the dosh or not...
To put it into perspective:::: I NEVER thought for one minute I would ever shell out £500 for an interconnect; I would have said everything that you and others have said... ie... "that's just mad" "they cannot be that good" etc etc
BUT I did get a set to listen to and I honestly have to say that they were a real eye opener for me... and if anyone wants to say otherwise then you MUST at least listen to a set before commenting on how ridiculous the price is etc etc
I just say it as I find it.... I'm an honest peep......!!

It was just a bit of humour, if the mods don't like it I'm sure they will let me know...... That's fine Lawrence and my apologies to you in that case, but from previous experience both here and elsewhere such comments tend to get pounced on and used to promote a negative agenda. Now, I may not have any interest in these cables just now but I do enjoy reading about other peoples happy discoveries of these, or any other cables, speaker leads, components etc, etc. I may not be in a position to purchase the item/s just now, but I might be sometime in the future so the more information I can obtain on them the more likely I am to give them a whirl if/when the situation arises. What gets my goat is when members pile into a thread with the aim of denigrating a product and users of said product, when most haven't even tried the damn thing themselves. Yup, I admit I've been guilty of this too in the past but thankfully I've grown up a bit since then and hopefully it shows.

"members pile into a thread with the aim of denigrating a product and users of said product, when most haven't even tried the damn thing themselves" My thoughts exactly Dave How can anyone comment properly and truthfully without actually trying it ?? well they can't can they... Chris, and others, you should try before you rubbish any bit of hifi equipment, including cables...

I have no idea what your system comprises of but you WON'T hear me commenting on, or 'rubbishing', ANY of your components if I myself hadn't heard any of them...that'd be crazy of me...
Make sense....?
That means simply that I won't, and cannot, comment on anyones equipment if I havn't heard it for myself.... AND I guess I don't expect anyone to comment, good or bad, on MY stuff either if they haven't heard it for themselves....
However if anyone HAS heard any of my components then please comment away and rubbish or praise where you think fit... but DON'T comment on what you DON'T know.... ok....
Very simple isn't it ??
ps.. if anyone want's to know the rest of my system so they can comment on it just shout.. no probs..!!

Just saying that I hate these feckin' circular arguments as much as the next sane person and I should have known better than to contribute to it and kept my gob shut! The trouble comes when folk try to push their opinions on others, end of the day its just that...an opinion. @bev, that wasn't directed specifically at you btw... just a general trend on forums that tend to lose the whole point: Folk getting together, sharing knowledge and enjoying out hobby! Wether its a piece of wet string or a £5000 bit of wire, who cares as long as you enjoy it? Dontcha think?

There's a little sense of humour failure going on here. Try not to take things too seriously.
Chris: it's called the Law of Diminishing Returns.
