When I think of truly timeless, beautiful music, "The Lark Ascending" is one of the first works that comes to my mind.
Has our countryside ever been imagined in such an evocative manner and with such an emotional edge?
Here is the wonderful Tasmin Little.

It's one of the most evocative pieces I know, and stunningly beautiful.

Very nice. Seems better than I have heard before Volume up
This classical stuff could be enough to persuade the boss to listen to music rather than watch the box

The next stage will be a concert recital ...
"Lark" is incredible played live if the violinist is up to the job.

Mike, the orchestral performance I wanted you to hear isn't online anymore. However, here is Lark "specialist" Jennifer Pike with just piano accompaniment, a concert from 2020 to mark the 100th anniversary of the first Lark performance. Her tone and sense of musical flow is just magical here. www.bristolensemble.com/the-lark-ascending/You need to fast forward to 31-40 on this live stream.
