Make sure you alter the setting at the back of the zen to just Tidal which is 3 on the setting Also USB audio is the bottom USB port. Add a decent power supply and if you want to go that extra mile add an Ethernet optical converter What do you recommend for a psu? You can use WiFi sound quality not as good and a procedure you need to follow to get stable
Ethernet none off these issues

Interesting!
I’ve had a read around some of the threads. Honestly, I’d forgotten how in-depth HiFi gets.
I shall try an Ethernet cable to kick off then I think. Wi-Fi has been working fine, but it can’t hurt to try, can it?!

Right, little update for anyone interested.
I’ve made a few little changes that have definitely helped the sound, especially with MQA it seems.
The first was to connect it via an Ethernet cable and switch off the Wi-Fi on the stream entirely.
I’ve also changed a setting so it now passes the MQA untouched to the DAC.
These three things have definitely made an improvement! As it was before there was a shrillness to highs which has now gone. There’s more cohesion, and somehow overall less artifice too - a bit like when you get a new tv and turn off all that fake 3d junk look they add to tv pictures these days, if that makes any sense?
Also, I’m not getting a bit of reassurance from the kit itself. The stream lights illuminate in the correct colour for the numbers. The MQA light on the DAC lights up the correct colours too.
Overall, I’d say it now sounds bloody great. PSU next.
