Wow I remember this conversation we had about making smoothies with a juicer last year at this time. Doesn't feel like that long ago.
Happy new year guys.

Happy New Year all. The fireworks have been going off for the last few hours here. Come midnight it will be chaos! It's surprisingly quiet here, still, but I'm sure everyone will be recreating a bad night in Beirut at midnight.

So far we've had about 45 minutes of horizon-to-horizon continuous fireworks. They have been going off most of the day, but started properly when it got dark and nearer to midnight it get serious. Being in a city, they mostly launch them from the middle of the street at midnight! I reckon there is another hour to go and so there is no point in trying to go bed as it is pretty damn loud. I can even feel the vibrations in the floor and the sofa! These are being launched from the main road on which are on the corner of. The first 20 minutes was on the green and from the gardens in the apartments opposite and then this lot from the street (only pausing when a bus came!). It has now moved a few metres up the street to the next group. This is the first time for 2 years that fireworks have been allowed to be sold at NY due to COVID and they are making up for it that's for sure. Happy New Year from a very noisy and very smoky Babelsberg.

Sounds pretty good Pete
At freaking home with a fever! Had to cancel date last night with the lady I mentioned and now we're both home separately tonight thanks to this nonsense.
Hopefully things are fairing better on your side guys. Any good tea tonight? Will dip into to The Kraken Rum later.

The fireworks are still going, but mostly more distant now and so I'm off to bed! I hope you're feeling better soon: I'm sure the rum will help!

At freaking home with a fever! Had to cancel date last night with the lady I mentioned and now we're both home separately tonight thanks to this nonsense. Sorry to hear that, I've been fighting a virus followed by a chest infection for the last two weeks so you have my full sympathy. Risked a HNY kiss last night and we're going for a walk today now that the bloody rain has finally stopped.
