I have a Resolution Audio Cantata 2.0 Dac that I’ve be mostly using for cd replay and Tv use for the last 5 years. www.resolutionaudio.com/?page_id=63I’ve recently started using Spotify via my sky Q box into the Dac. My Dac seems to be able to connect to my home network via cat 6 and has an app so you can play music from a PC or source on the same network, but I’m clueless on how this works and what’s needed. Am I right thinking I don’t need a dedicated streamer? Thanks Matt

It talks a lot about a digital library but does not appear to be a streamer? If it's 5 years old it's not likely to be but you'd need to refer to the instruction manual to be sure.
You should be able to play files but you'd need a streamer (or keep using the Sky box) for streaming services.

Hi Martin,
I think it’s actually 2011 tech, with the 2.0 version just gaining Hi-res playback or something along those lines a few years later. From what I can gather, I can connect a Pc to my network and use something like fubar2000 and control playback from an iPad or phone over Wi-Fi.
I’ll look into it.
Thanks Matt

I finally got around to figuring this out.
Using an Android device, I downloaded BubbleUPNP. This recognises the Cantata on the network and I can stream Tidal or Qobuz from the Android device.
I’m only using a standard Cat6 to feed the Cantata as I do t have anything better that is long enough. I’ll do some testing this evening to see how it sounds.
