I've been checking running temperatures of my various hi-fi components to ensure that I have enough cooling to preserve longevity. It's interesting to see what's running particularly hot. Outside case temperatures: - EtherREGEN 38.3C - X26 Pro 36.2C - U18 34.9C - Both clocks 31.6C - SA100 30.7C - P3 28.6C - Signature Rendu SE 28.4C - P10 25.8C I like how the power amp is banging out music but only at middle-ranking temperature.

I have a cheap temp gauge I will use to check Could be interesting
Helps to have kit on Black Ravioli or other footer

I have two Uptone JS-2 power supplies stacked. I was surprised to see the lower one, which powers the AfterDark clock, is running at 28.6C while the upper one, powering both the EtherREGEN and TP-Link router, is running at 27.7C.
The other JS-2 in the main system powering my 2nd AfterDark clock runs equally hot. I guess those ovens need more power than I had first imagined. Good thing I dedicated a JS-2 to each one, both set to 12V.

In car HiFi normally fitted in a car boot there is a vertical/reversed cascade effect ie the lower items because heat rises raise the temperature above often exacerbated by mounting cooling finned amps sideways rather than vertically Astra boots back in the day had no airflow so were particularly susceptible cure a 12v fan. My domestic valve pre & power amps have plug switched USB 5v fans powered from a double charger.

Maybe a small amount, but as cables are insulated, their heatsink capacity isn't going to amount to much.

Martin
The SA100 was designed with the same heat sink co efficent as the SA30 class amplifier 'a' which could give a rock steady 1 ohm @ 201WRms. temprature at that point was 42C so yuou have no issues with heat dissapation on that product imho

You're right, Tony, the SA-100 runs lukewarm even when I'm giving the system the beans. It never seems to get out of sorts and handles the Usher's tricky 4-ohm load seemingly without effort.
In fact, the Belles and Ushers really seem to be lifetime products for me, they just keep getting better as the system improves.
