Just a couple of snaps but they show the construction taking shape. The flotilla going past was part of the 50th birthday celebrations and was excellent to see.

Where is it in relation to the other two Forth bridges, Chris?

See I always wondered about this, I think they got a bit ahead of themselves when naming the original. Surely it should now read, First'th, Secondth, and Thirdth bridges with the Forth coming along 25 years or so down the line...

Very close by. If yer crossing the road bridge from the Edinburgh side it's maybe 350/500 yards to the left. The 3 bridges together will be even more spectacular and the road bridge will become buses, cycles and taxis only. Great for a walk just now but that'll make it even better.
Doesnt matter what they call it Dave - everyone will just call it "The New Bridge"!

I was under the impression the original bridge was called the Forth Bridge because it was built over the River Forth?

Will it be ready in time for all the English MPs to come home?

Nah, we'll need to keep it open for all the truckloads of oil money you owe us.

Been watching this taking shape as I live close by, I can in fact see the bridges from the top of our road, it's been interesting seeing the towers rise into view, although I would have preferred a tunnel being built, it would have been fun to thrash the car car through on vtec with the roof down, an alternative audio thrill.

I think it will struggle to beat the noise the "TVR Power" exhaust equipped Tamora used to make in a tunnel. I really miss that noise!

That's the towers coming on. Taken 2 weeks ago. And the rail bridge on a cracking day. I can also offer tunnels but only from a canoe and that has no engine note I'm afraid.
