These 4 are from a series of 12 that I was quite pleased with.

WOW! One of my images got chosen to go on rotation on the front page of THE AI art community website, and that's boosted it quite nicely. It's already got over 50 "likes". My only other comparably-scoring images have taken weeks to get that many. The daft thing is, it was just a silly throwaway series of six images I did with no particular artistic merit. To wit...

And as of this minute, 603 " likes" and counting, plus 48 people have " followed" me. The image is still on rotation too. As an added bonus, it's also carried me over the 11K mark in the site's "currency." I now have 11,072 BUZZ to my name. I'm also still in a contest to win another 4K BUZZ. It seems that getting on the front page is key, but I've no idea how I achieved it. It may even be totally random. I have to say though, it's brought a smile to my face, however it was achieved. I have another set of images set to upload, but I don't want to jinx Baby Cthulhu in a pink sunhat and shades while he's still earning.

I knew that Slinger bloke before he became famous Trust me, Mike, finding something that you enjoy, and that you may be half-decent at, is a great feeling at 70-years-of-age.

Holy Crap. I've just checked and my image has now had 1,175 " likes" and I'm now up to 76 followers on the strength of it. It's also had a knock-on effect with some of my other images. The system lets one know when "milestones" are achieved, and there were a raft of notifications telling me that other historic images have received five or ten likes. More people have downloaded my models too. For someone who has only been playing with this stuff for under six months I am inordiantely pleased with myself (you possibly noticed?). I will attempt to lock my own trumpet away safely to avoid blowing it too much. Promise. I wonder if they're ready for my next series yet, in the style of Anton Semenov

I'm certain that many here envy your newfound faculties with AI... I know that I do.

All it takes is application, and a modicum of talent. I've been involved in computer-generated art one way or another over the course of about 30 years, on and off, (mostly off for the past 10 years or so) but this a completely new way of working for me.

Looks like my 15 minutes are up. My image has ended up with 1321 likes. I dare say a few stragglers will trickle in over time, but the tidal wave is done.

Despite the image not being on the front page anymore it still seems to have some legs. It's garnered over 2,000 likes now, and I have 87 followers. In contrast, my latest series of images (see below) which were designed for a small contest, have received one like each, presumably all from the same person.

Look at 2:58
It's mind blowing what they can already do for ultra modular image generation like adding skins onto anything you've created. Taking photos of textures from the real world and applying them to objects created by the AI.
Let's see how far you can take this new hobby of yours Paul.

"Taking photos of textures from the real world..." is something that's been done for donkey's years in the 3D software world. I've used the same technique to create models like this... The basic textures were designed and generated within a program called Cinema 4D (which you'll see mentioned when he puts up the list of the software he's had to learn) and the screen was from an image overlaid on a plain surface inside the same software. In this one, I created all of the textures procedurally, except for the wood, and the overlay for the controls, which were from " real-world" sources. What he's talking about is nothing short of amazing compared to my attempts, above though, and the format they're in. It is, however, a logical progression, but at hyperspeed. My AI software doesn't support Control Net, so I've never really investigated it, and I've found no use for " inpainting" so far, although I know it exists, and Fooocus, which I use, does support it. I'm happy doing what I'm doing until, as usual, I find something that I want to do, that I don't know how to do, and that something either becomes my next learning project or gets kicked to the curb with murmurs of " life's to fekkin short". I honestly could not keep up with the speed things are developing, nor would I want to, to be honest. It's my hobby; those guys are doing it for a living, which is always an incentive that I'll never have again, I'm happy to say.

Very interesting Paul. I've heard once that doing something you love for a paycheck takes some of the joy out it. This sounds a bit like that.
Btw I'd initially heard that video above as a podcast on the channel called 'The TED AI Show with Bilawal Sidhu'. There are many more episodes.
While listening I kept thinking that it seems like this stuff will advance so rapidly that within a week whatever I heard last weekend will be old news regarding AI image generation and only some people/companies will be able to keep up. And then what? Eventually every day will be massive changes/upgrades? Will companies be able to function/compete without AI soon?

Not a job if you love doing it I had the " job of my dreams" for all of 3 months, when I was contracting. Such a shame I was hired for one particular job they'd taken on, and there was no permanent placement at the end of it
