Something I've noticed recently - how prices offered by Far East hifi dealers conveniently appear to be the same. First noticed this when looking for my Topping DAC a while back. Today I came across the Gustard C16 clock, checked the prices and it's $659 from all the usual suspects.
There was a time when there were always deals to be had but not any more. Also during sales, almost all the discounts I have seen on this kind of gear were exactly the same from shop to shop.

All true.
The price of container shipping has increased x fold. Can't remember the exact figures now, but before COVID, you could have a cost of $600. After COVID that was said to have risen to something like $2000. Probably more again with fuel priced the way it is now. Some UK firms are looking to pull out of China as it's not the attraction it once was.

The former is probably due to cartel-like behaviour between the vendors.
The latter is more likely to be a desire to keep the ticket price low, so they jack up the shipping cost.

Same here. I've looked at several things on AliExpress lately and the only difference now appears to be that ordering from AE will mean waiting longer for one's purchase to arrive. This makes purchasing from China fairly pointless nowadays, whereas one used to be able to score a bargain or two.
Secondary to that is the fact that if one was saving £100 or so it was worth taking a punt on a product. Now, I'd rather guarantee I can get my money back without too much hassle if something arrives broken, not as described, or even counterfeit.
Mind you, the "Big Dick Penis Thickening Growth Massage Enlargement Oil Sexy Orgasm Delay Liquid For Men Cock Erection Enhance Products Care" seems to be holdign its price pretty well.

The former is probably due to cartel-like behaviour between the vendors. I remember years ago doing some haggling down on Tottenham Court Road and vividly remember being naively surprised when the guy told me that each shop knows what the other is charging - no doubt they also knew what discounts were available. There used to be some "characters" behind the counter in those shops ...
