Jon Hopkins produces some wonderful music. Followed him down an Eno shaped rabbit hole with Small Craft on a Milk Sea and wanted more
From minimalist ambient to heavy duty dance music style Makes me think of the architecture of music with him being an experimental architect
Just added all the albums I have to my album playlist, playing them all, in order for the first time
I am taken

I came to this some years ago via King Creosote. A gorgeous album that also ties in with my interest in ambient sound recordings. I must dig it out and give it a spin.

All Jon's albums I have stuck in the album playlist and for good reason They range from very good to wonderful His first solo outing Opalescent is exquisite Wonderfully relaxing, what little is going on is perfect. Very well made and revealed beautifully on my wonder system An essential album. You have to listen to it YT music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_l_HPpBM2EgUz8RRbOjlYwkaCtOIX7Pd3MDiscogs says "This extraordinary debut uniquely combines the light with the dark, the beautiful with the mysterious, in a glorious atmosphere where the world of trip hop beats and chill out are made Jon's own personal domain. Sometimes eerie, sometimes majestic, but always profoundly musical." Another of my following down a rabbit hole, first discovering him with his work with Eno and liking what I heard

Contact Note 2004 Much like Opalescent. Initially that's exactly what it is then Jon brings in heavy beats to add to what is in Opalescent The same but different Wonderful in a different way From Jon's own Bandcamp page Intricate beat patterns, deep driving basslines, guitar riffs, gorgeous piano melodies and ethereal vocals lushly produced and pristinely mixed give an instant appeal to his music, from the intense 'Circle', the infectious 'Symmetry' and '100' drenched in beautiful vintage techno effects, to the melancholic piano of 'Searchlight' and the crystalline acoustic guitar of 'Glasstop'. Divided in three distinct movements, 'Contact Note' slowly evolves into a deep, compelling musical experience concluding with the stunning third part where Jon masters to perfection his skills as a classically trained musician, to give his most abstract work delicate impressionist touches. Classical piano contrasts with drifting atmospheres and twisted rhythms on the dark, edgy and gripping 'Black And Red' - to culminate with the waving synths and sumptuous vocals of the blissful 'Luna Moth', the perfect end of a glorious sonic adventure. 'He really drives you through a set of tracks blending boundaries and raising and lowering the mood with ease.' - 9/10 Future Music jonhopkins.bandcamp.com/album/contact-noteAllMusic has one genre for JH as Ambient Techno Contradiction in terms and pretty accurate

The Art of Chill 2 A compilation of what must have been on his mind and very good too Two tracks from JH himself
This may have been where I discovered Bent, track 2 Don't have the CD, costs a fortune. Well worth listening to this if you like JH to find similar music
