Einaudi has released many albums. This is the best I have found, so far anyway. Cecilia Chailly adds a great deal for me in the way she has interpreted his music. Wonderful harpist The recording quality is also superb Minimal, spaced and gentle This is a lovely album that keeps growing on me and gives more on a good system than, for example my 'inexpensive' kitchen system YouTube Music music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_magzLAykPiudVMsVysX0cODQ3Z1OUgtbw

I mostly enjoyed this, thanks Mike.
So this is an electric harp being played - the work of the Devil himself!! Sacrilege indeed. Apparently Cecilia is a pioneer of this instrument and the album in question is from the early 90's.
I can't listen on my system but imagine those really high frequencies and decay could sound great ...
Interesting fact - it turns out Cecilia is the sister of maestro Ricardo Chailly.

I thought she might be related.
Yes, the electric harp makes a compelling sound and the note decay and acoustic on my system are quite something. It made for a very pleasant listen but after a while it becomes a touch one-dimensional. Nevertheless, it makes a great sound while it holds the attention. 4/5

Sadly like Jules, I can't listen to it on my first or second systems. SMSL Q5 and Celestion DL4 s2 speakers + 6" sub it is then.

Absolutely loved it...impeccably recorded and composed. There were a few moments when it conjured up memories of Michael Hedges. Found it ethereal and relaxing. Made my afternoon.
Thanks, Mike.

There were a few moments when it conjured up memories of Michael Hedges. Yes, I can hear that. I saw Michael Hedges perform live and have always loved the Aerial Boundaries album.

Go to album when you have insomnia John ! This album is positively busy compared to some of the ambient I listen to

It does have a somewhat hypnotic quality - I don't see that as a bad thing!

A solid four, almost a nine out of ten. Of course, it helps that I own a few Einaudi albums, and was a fan already. I did keep waiting for " Respiro," to break into a minimalist " Unchained Melody," though. Have another listen, and if you're are odd as me you'll never be able to un-hear it. I always used to write that song out as "Unrestrained Monotony" on the band's setlist.
