A couple of tasty little sugar-free treats, both from Amazon. This one's not cheap, but it's quite a big bottle, and it goes a long way. It's great for livening up boring cereal, or porridge etc. N.B.It says Maple flavour " syrup", but it's not, so watch out when you pour it. These, on the other hand are dirt cheap. £2.00 for a pack of 6x300ml cans currently. The price fluctuates, so I've just ordered another 4 packs to keep me going. I find them very thirst-quenching, and for "Tropical" read "pineapple".

Wow and they see truly sugar free. I am on day 4 of no sugar. Yesterday they put in a free donut with my order and I actually said no thanks. Normally I wouldn't be able to resist.
I've been scared Christless lately that maybe I screwed up my insides with uncontrolled diabetes.
I realized recently that I actually lie to myself and do bargaining and promises and mind games and lies to obtain sugar into my system.

That's why sugar is so damaging, its addictive nature makes you crave more.
Stay strong, it dies away eventually.

On very rare occasions I am tempted by the poison of sugar Still has the 'must have more' feeling
Never buy it
Step daughter makes cakes as a hobby and usually loads icing on the cake There is some in the freezer I must put in the bin

These make a rather delicious guilt-free dessert: OaYeah! Feelgood Original Large Pancakes x6 360g (£2.40)I've just had a couple with banana, the sugar-free maple syrup I mentioned above, and some squirty cream. The pancakes have around 35% of the sugar contained in Sainsbury's' other sweet pancakes, at 4.3 g per 100g. The Anchor Original Real Cream Spray is 0.9g of sugar per serving. I chucked a few frozen berries in too, and gave it 1m 30s in the microwave before adding the cream and the syrup, et voila, guilt-free decadence.

Last year I quit sugar for 14 days (14 days was the goal) and fell off the wagon hard on day 15.
This time I quit for 7 weeks and then bought an apple. 2 days later I bought some sweets. I've fallen off the wagon again though not as hard. Planning to start another quit cycle Monday.

It's difficult, I know. there are too many things I like(d) that have too much sugar in them. The problem is in finding substitutes.
I really do like chocolate, but I've discovered Sainsbury's No Added Sugar Dark Chocolate, which is 95p for 100g, which is made with sweeteners, contains 0.8g of sugar per 100g, and tastes pretty good if you like dark chocolate, which is my preference. Not much use to you, I know, but surely there must be alternatives in the States? Biscuitsa re another stumbling block. I loved my biccies (cookies) but now I only buy low, or no, sugar versions. Wally World sells sugar-free cookies.
It really is all about sitting down with a web browser, doing some in-depth searches, and reading through lists of ingredients and tables of nutritional information. I'm tied to one grocery retailer, which, in many ways, makes life easier for me. A quick search for "sugar free" or "low sugar" on grocery sites usually reaps rewards.

Ok. That will be my next experiment: finding substitutes. I have one type of cracker in mind that has like 3 grams of sugar per serving.
Understood regarding that it is important to sit down and do the research.
So far my last 2 experiments have proved unsustainable. I can stay away from sugar for nearly 2 months (first time ever in my life), but one taste of it and all is lost and I go on a binge. There has to be better way if will power is shaky.
Ok I'll try thanks Paul.

I sometimes do that with chocolate, which I love. The only way I can stay off it is not to buy it. So the decision point is moved to the shopping, not the eating. It mostly works for me.

Honestly, I read that twice, Mike, and BOTH times I saw it as "FACIAL" transplants, and thought, " that's a bit drastic".

These make quite a nice dessert. They weigh in at between 4.4g to 4.7g of sugar per 100g, and they come in three flavours, chocolate, caramel latte (my personal favourite), and salted caramel. I usually have one with a banana for dessert, especially when they're on offer at Sainsbury's, like now, at £1.25 per pot. Their yoghurts are quite nice too, but contain about 50% more sugar. www.arlafoods.co.uk/products-overview/arla-protein-hazelnut-pudding-200g-187918/
