Hello,
I recently purchased a NOS Ortofon AS-212. The AS-212 was designed for the SL-15 which was relatively high compliance cartridge.
I have had almost every cartridge that you could care to mention, it all began in 1962. Memory fades but the FR MC201 is still in my mind as the best of the lot. It was MFSL favorite cartridge too. I have used different charts all with different answers and I don't know which is the correct answer and need a hand, will this cartridge be a good match for my As-212?
Cheers,

The Ortofon arm has an effective mass of 12-18g, so it's not particularly a lightweight. The Fidelity Research cartridge has a tracking weight of 1.5 - 2.0g and, although I can't find a compliance figure, this would seem well suited to the arm. I can see no reason why this cannot be a good combination.
Watch the very low output of the cartridge, you're going to need a very good step-up transformer for it.
