That RCM looked like a real work of art.
Interesting that CD is making a bit of a comeback - a number of new players being released in response to latest data -
"According to data from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), shipments of compact discs rose from 31.6 million in 2020 to 46.6 million in 2021 – a rise of 47 per cent. Revenue also rose from $483.2 million to $584.2 million. The last time sales of CDs were on the up was in 2004."

I'm astonished at that statistic. Looks like CD is making a comeback as did records.
Not necessarily with young people, as witnessed at my place of work where they have been heard to call them 'those round silver things that play music on a machine'.

I can't see next generations doing what we do.
Not with streaming, Spotify, Youtube, Apple Music etc. CDs will continue to diminish, fewer albums.
And certainly not the intricate systems.
Simplicity is a winner, as is ease of use.

I'm not so sure. The majority of my employees are graduates in the mid 20s to mid 30s and they like the idea of physical media and often express a desire to move away from 'everything online'. It is the same with my friends 'children', again in their mid to late 20s. Records especially are considered to be 'special things' whereas streaming is a casual, 'disposable' thing.
