Reef was a band that seemed to have passed me by, but I've just remedied that.
I was watching my recording of last night's CH4 "Derry Girls" and while the music in all 3 series has been uniformly excellent this track instantly grabbed me. I didn't even know who was playing, but a quick trip to Google via my Chromebook soon remedied that.
I don't know how I missed them, because they tick a lot of boxes for me. They certainly rock, and having listened to the live version of this track, and seen some video of them too, they can play a bit too. Gary Stringer has a somewhat "individual" voice, although its eccentricities seem less pronounced in a live setting. It may wear on me after a while, but in case it doesn't they've a new album out in 2 days time, produced by Duran Duran / Power Station guitarist Andy Taylor, who also plays live with them.
Anyway, here it is, in album format, and live.
Same song, live, but the versions were recorded 20 years apart.

I enjoyed 'Glow' when it was released. Haven't played it for a few years now, though.

Wow this song kicks ass. Even the microphone is a bit startled at the sudden burst of energy coming out of this guy.

I've just received the "Live" Reef album I ordered, and although I didn't realise it when ordering it, it comes with a Blu-ray of the concert. Not bad for £3.56 all in.

You've been robbed Paul. Truly dreadful, di dn't like this when it first came out and won't play it again to remind myself of the banality of this third rate pub band.

I see Jules is, as usual, hedging his bets whilst sitting on the fence. I'd only just treated that fence with creosote too.
