A good (short) article on Ramin Djawadi: His career & scoring orchestral adventures for the new movie Uncharted, and stuff about Game of Thrones as well as his mentor, Hans Zimmer, obviously. Maybe it's just the geek in me, but I love learning as much as I can about a composer's processes, or as much as they're prepared to share, anyway. composer.spitfireaudio.com/en/articles/ramin-djawadi-on-his-career-scoring-orchestral-adventures-for-unchartedThere are some good links at the bottom, too. Pinar Toprak on Danny Elfman, and how she became the first woman to be hired on a $100 million-plus movie and the first one to get fired from one. Inside Hans Zimmer's studio, which speaks for itself. I personally can't look at that one for too long, or too often, because the drool ruins my keyboards and Tina Guo the Marmite electric cellist. I think she's absolutely brilliant, you may well hate her. More Hans Zimmer content too. There are three more links at the bottom of those three pages too, in case you feel like doing the whole " rabbit hole" thing. Just to mix it up I'll also use this post as an excuse to showcase Tina Guo playing a short interpretation of the main theme from GoT

Anyone whose mentor is Hans Zimmer demands to be taken seriously.
I used to turn the volume up at the intro to every episode of GoT, so good is the title music.
