Since I bought Olivers DCB1 pre-amp and a Denafrips Ares 11 Dac, I have been fine tuning my system. I started by installed about 15 ferrite chokes on power cables and have recently installed Fidelizer Pro on the computer that I use to store music and play internet radio. IMHO Fidelizer Pro is a no-brainer for anyone that uses a streamer. I am now thinking about the router and possibly getting a better power supply. Is it worth getting a good linear one or an an Ifi/ S-Booster maybe?

I have a 12V Weiliang linear PSU powering my TP-Link MR6400 4G router, with a grounding box connected to the ground terminal at the router.
Yes, the PSU and grounding box both make a difference, as do footers under the router and a weight on top.

Doesnt the linear supply use a lot of electricity and get hot? Would a high quality SMPS (maybe a medical grade one) be nearly as good? The router is on 24/7 so it needs to be efficient and cool running.

I have yet to hear an SMPS sound half as good as a linear PSU. Also, the overall deleterious effect of that dirty PSU on the power lines to the rest of the system means that all SMPS are banished from my music room.
