Rafa has a 7mm ab tear, but will try to play. Staple it up. Numbing drugs... Nothing to see here!

Can the gobby one beat Djok? Less likely in a Bo5 match.

Great shame Nadal had to pull out , Novak must be a very hot favourite now . Always wanted Federer to win but I fell out with him when I thought he bottled it with those two match point serves against Novak in the 2019 final , easy for me to sit here and say that but Roger you had to go for it !

So, nobody's giving Norrie a chance then?

I'd love to be wrong but looks like classic Djoker - lose one or two sets and then turn it round ...

So, have I got this right?
The All England Club incurred a six-figure fine and lost Wimbledon its ranking points for banning Russian and Belarusian players from the Championships this year.
They made that decision, in part, to avoid the optics of a Royal Family member handing a Russian player a winner's trophy.
Today, The Duchess of Cambridge handed the women's singles trophy to someone born and raised in Moscow. Someone whose family still live in Moscow, and someone whose only reason for switching allegiance to Khazakstan 4 years ago was that they offered her better financial backing.
And just to rub salt into the wound, the Russian Tennis Federation's president said this week that he was "rooting for her" and Andrei Chesnokov - a former Russian player - told local media "let's congratulate the Royal Family, they will have to congratulate someone from Russia”.
Whoops!

Good ladies final. Rybakina had a bit too much firepower and follow through, 1st set aside, for Ons.
At 1 set all, the men's final looks like it might degenerate into a K!ngkyrgios rant. (That was/is?, his Instagram handle btw..)

I'm quite surprised (and not a little disappointed) that something is not being done about Kyrgios' language. He's not exactly muttering to himself.

Reasonable final. Some good points.
Kyrgios' Lang is nothing blest his little cotton socks royal kid won't have heard already😂
But of course it lowers the tone..
He didn't go complete mental at least..
Djok kept his 5 year old daughter off court until the ceremony, perhaps for the language reason 🙂
Line judges don't stand a chance. Heaven knows why they don't automate like the US and Aus opens! Clay there is an excuse.
Hawkeye and the player has to challenge is so behind the times..

I would have liked Kyrgios to win but I don't think anyone was fooled by the usual slow Djoko start ...
Much as I dislike him there is no disputing his record.

The boys' singles final is a pretty good match.
Could be the future of tennis.
Poljicak (Cro) looks like a 35 year old rugby player! Hits a 120mph serve all day long but is down a break to slight 5'9" American Zheng. Quite a good match.
Now Poljicak is losing his rag as the 1st end looms .. learned behaviour

Steve, do you think Kyrgios can use Wimbledon as a springboard to more Grand Slam finals?
How is he on other surfaces?

Steve, do you think Kyrgios can use Wimbledon as a springboard to more Grand Slam finals? How is he on other surfaces? He's there or there abouts on hardcourts, esp the faster ones - Aus open for instance. He doesn't usually play much clay court at all. Too much like hard work.. But he just doesn't have the ability or desire to apply himself to really become a consistent force. If that changes he could do much better. Don't hold your breath! 🙂 At the moment the stars have to align and the right opponents be in the way, or non show, to get to the finals. Had Nadal been fully fit Kyrgios would have failed at the semi final imo. Had he somehow beaten Nadal he would have had even more taken out of him / more injury / niggle likely by the final.. Also, we didn't quite have a fully stacked Wimbledon. Early rounds either Rublev or Medvedev could take Kyrgios out easy as you like, esp on hard courts. So he will not figure that much. If the stars align etc, then yes🙂

Watched a very close match on the Swiss clay between Daniel Collins seeded 1, and lowky ranked Swiss wildcard player, Simona Waltert.

Amazon prime are serving up fewer ATP tournaments this year 😒
Several / many 250 and 500 level ones are missing from the calendar.
They are covering pretty much all the WTA.
I just re-subbed to TennisTV after over a year away.
Updated app. Smooth HQ casting to big TV. Working well.
Like Amazon it's the match replay feature that's a class apart from Eurosport and BBC (😒 on the latter).
I'm now watching Sinner, with Alcaraz, Brooksby, Musetti, Rune all to come. Plugging away on European clay.
American Hardcourt swing is just around the corner.
