I've bought quite a few of my Christmas "extras" from these people - www.dorri.co.uk/ I got a couple of things from them last Christmas, and I've bought several more few things from them during the year, and they have been, without exception, excellent value, and of excellent quality. I started out buying from them via Amazon, but it's cheaper, as I discovered, to buy direct from their website. As well as the bog-standard lines, like peanuts, cashew nuts, etc. they do a lot of specials too, like the Mixed Pickled Vegetables and Sweet Garlic I've ordered this year. Their Honey and Sesame Cashews are delicious too. I've also ordered my Garlic Stuffed Olives from them this year, and I've ordered dates and figs from them too. I was sorely tempted by their Dolmades, but I'd already bought too much. I'm definitely having some in the new year though. I didn't dare even look at the Baclava and the Katayef. Honestly, I could spend a fortune with them, or perhaps I should say, another fortune. Highly recommended. Did I mention their dried fruit?

I've bought the Honey Roasted Almonds a couple of times after your recommendation Paul (Amazon) What a treat. I will probably buy some things for Christmas now, from their site. Thanks mate Just ordered some Honey Roasted Almonds and some mixed nuts from their site. I doubt very much if they'll last to Christmas never mind the New year

I forgot to mention; another thing I appreciate about these guys is that they give the "DRAINED" weight of things in brine/oil/etc, and not the weight including the liquid as is quite usual. If you order 500g of garlic stuffed olives, 500g is the weight of the olives you receive. Talking of which, my garlic-stuffed olives arrived earlier this afternoon. I wonder if they'll last until Christmas, or if I'll be ordering more? Because they're in olive oil, by the way, they have an expiry date of 31-03-2022. Once opened the received wisdom is to keep them in the fridge (the pack is resealable too) and simply to top up the olive oil to cover the olives whenever you take some out to eat. This not only keeps them fresh for longer but also leaves you with some lovely garlic-infused olive oil to use when the olives themselves are but a fragrant memory. [EDIT] And that's just cost me another forty quid.

Dorri has just scored another point with me. " Spend over £40.00 and get a free bag of fudge," the promo on their website said. Well, the spending over £40.00 bit was a doddle, and I expected a little " gift bag" of fudge. Nope. It's a full 500g (half-a-kilo makes it sound even better for some reason ) of mixed fudge which, depending on what types the mix is made up of, normally retails for anything between £5.25 and £6.75.

Lol, you'll have to change your name to 'overweight' Slinger next year Paul. The last time I ordered Honey Roast Almonds (smallest size) from them they lasted 2 days. So I ordered the bigger size this time

So I ordered the bigger size this time I did buy lots of healthy stuff too, Brian, like several types of olives, pickled vegetables, pickled garlic, and cornichons, as well as loads of nuts, seeds, and dried fruit.

Ahh yes, large bags of fudge. I remember them fondly.
Day 4 of no sugar here. I did 14 days a few weeks back after being inspired by a youtube vid. I plan to be back to fudge by Christmas though. It's got to be wonderful to know goodies are arriving in the mail.

I gave up smoking a long time ago, I've pretty much given up drinking, I don't do drugs, so I figure I can at least order some interesting things to eat once in a while. I think I've already said somewhere, that at Christmastime I've fallen into the habit of buying loads of stuff I can just throw on a plate, potato salad, cold meats, coleslaw, cheeses, pickles, pork pies, etc. and take a week or so away from cooking. Christmas dinner will be a lump of ribeye steak, Boxing day it's pork cutlets, and after that the most complicated thing I'll be cooking is a burger. I've also got one of these to cook up, which I'll probably do in the Ninja on Christmas Eve, then I can slice it up and freeze it in batches, ready to eat over the week. So that's my Christmas. No Sex, no Drugs, but Rock 'n' Roll and some (hopefuilly) good food. My kids did invite me to spend Christmas with them, but they've got two teenagers at school, and what with the COVID and schools situation... besides thay're still young enough to have noisy parties (when parties are allowed) so a quiet time at home, on my own, is definitely preferable, probably for them too, truth be told. It was good that the olffer came though.

For anyone who likes the odd burger, you really MUST try these... They really are *that* different, and that much better, than your bog-standard high-end Taste The Difference, Extra Special, Finest, or whatever, ranges. Whack a slice of Leerdammer on top, and some Mrs Elswood Sliced Cucumber slap them between two halves of a brioche burger bun, or a Sainsbury's Summer Edition Sesame Topped Milk Burger Bun (my personal favourites) and you're good to go. Burger relish and mustard optional.

Had a fantastic Beef Wellington ordered from Waitrose.
Tonight I feel obliged to get stuck into the Heston Blumenthal Black Forest Pannetone which we first discovered a few years back - it is insanely delicious.

I don't like cheese with burgers, I feel that neither enhances the other. The Polish mayo, though, works perfectly. Up to now, my favourite has been Sainsurys caramelised onion burgers. I've seen those Wagyu burgers on sale and will try them.

I usually go for the Sainsburys caramelised Onion burgers too these days, now that there's not so much variety, but you'll notice a world of difference between them and the Wagyu Burgers. I love Mayo, but not on burgers. Chicken burgers, maybe, but not with beefburgers.
