Knowing the volume of Van Morrison fans out there (!), I may be talking to myself again. However, I'm proposing Into the Mystic as one of the pinnacles of his long career, the song featuring on Moondance and recorded back in 1970. From the voice to the guitar work to the sultry sax representing the foghorn, it's a perfect song. Much to my liking, the lyrics are more poetic sounds than a meaningful story, and VM himself has said they have multiple meanings and could be written in alternative ways. It's a song of timeless beauty and I hope some of you enjoy listening to it perhaps for the first time. open.qobuz.com/track/12100316

That's one of the albums of his that I own, and enjoy. For me, the key tracks are "And It Stoned Me" followed by "Moondance."

I think it's the high point of the album, for sure.

Gave it a shot. Some of the music from those years sounds utterly alien to me.
Even when it's from the US and from that Era of rock I can't fathom the world they're speaking of.
