My iPhone and Macbook don't do Bluetooth 5.
So will have to get a tablet at some stage.

If you were to receive the wi-fi with an inexpensive receiver/extender, of which most have an ethernet socket, you can then reclock the ethernet just before it enters the streamer. That'll maximise the effect and the quality of the feed. I have done a bit of reading. Using wifi to a wifi extender and ethernet to streamer, seems to be a very good solution. And a solution for under £80. Now added to my wishlist. Along with fuses, grounding boxes, LPSs, Wifi router, reclocker, BR Pads...

How do I eliminate the noise in the system from a wifi extender? By running an EtherREGEN after it.

There's the Wavelength Ethernet Spacelator if you can find one, or the English Electric 8Switch.
There are probably others if you look, maybe called audiophile switch (which is what the EtherREGEN is).

I like the form factor of the EtherRegen. And that you can add a clock. And that it is Ethernet cable, rather than USB. The reviews are pretty damn good as well.

Earlier this year I purchased a Netgear GS308T "Smart" Switch to go between my WiFi range extender and my RPi4. There was a noticeable improvement over my "dumb" Netgear switch, even with the stock 12V power supply. At the time I tried a separate LiIon battery with a 12V output but could not hear much difference, so for convenience stuck with the PSU. It is a managed switch but I have just stuck with the default settings. Fast forward, after reading this thread, I thought I would get a decent Ethernet Cable (Melco C1AE Cat 7) and try a 12V battery again - this time my trusty Ankaka LiIon. The difference is very significant - opening-up the sound stage and increasing the overall musicality. The GS308T may not be as good as an etherRegen but, for £40 or so (plus battery or LPS), it is well worth a try. www.amazon.co.uk/NETGEAR-8-Port-Gigabit-Ethernet-Managed/dp/B01N7C0ZQH. Of course I am also now wondering what additional improvement about the etherRegen would bring...

I have a Netgear Mesh WiFi (MK62) but use a Netgear extender. Before installing the mesh, the link to the wifi router would sometimes drop out. Now it seems rock steady.

I understand Mesh to be a better wifi option. Any discernible noise streaming this way?

In my experience Mesh is so much more reliable and effective than a Wi-fi Extender but can't comment on its audiophile capabilities.

Mesh is good but Brett is using an extender in order to derive an ethernet cable output so that he can clean up the datastream before entering the streamer.
