On a number of occasions I have mulled upon having an HiFi dedicated mains solution into my music room, which is currently on yer bog standard socketed ring main fed from the CU housed in a cupboard across the adjacent hall. Find attached a couple of happy snaps of the mains ingress point and CU unit. The CU has facility for a 20 Amp Radial ? And an 32 Amp Radial ? Both of which are redundant and the associated cables still running upstairs tho made safe. The distance between the CU and Music room is relativly short however crosses the hall with a sealed parquet floor into the ring main also sporting a sealed parquet floor. What would be my best option from a fidelity point of view ( presumably dedicated radial ) here folks ? Any advice much appreciated. Sparky advice is best but as you're asking Separate CU for hifi into one or two unswitched sockets, or more if your kit needs it 6mm twin and earth
How you get from here to there is a problem I have. Visible trunking or lift the carpet and floorboards upstairs to run the cable in there Neither appeal

I have a separate 60A CU with two radials to the music room (only 5 metres or so). I only use one of them with a Coherent cryo treated double unswitched socket. My two regenerators connect to them and do the distribution work. Everything runs from regenerated power.

Thank you gents.... Martin are your CU’s on two entirely separate mains entering your property, and are they Y spit off before or after your main household CU ? Indeed Mike...A separate radial and perhaps associated CU is pretty structurally hassle free...its the part getting to the final destination wherein lies the strife.

Thank you gents.... Martin are your CU’s on two entirely separate mains entering your property, and are they Y spit off before or after your main household CU ? Two CUs from one main feed, split just after the neutral to earth bond and the meter.

I agree have them on a separate feed from the mains Often I hear that people get bloated bass if using 10mm wiring so stay with 6mm as might prevent this issue think about how you earth the system it makes a surprising difference and save money down the line
