I've had them in my system so I know what they can do. You're going to love them, really capable speakers.

My 63s are in need of some tlc, they will be tucked away till then. My Spendor SP1s are keepers, my son managed not to bite my arm off when I offered him guardianship of them. I look forward to getting a pair of speakers to my own spec in my front room, my good lady was happy to have some input-win/win.

I went for the polished birch/cream textured leather and the coper coloured drivers. Light and bright rather than another big black lump.

Steve estimates 4 weeks build time so they should be run in by then, all going well. Steve offered to run the cable straight off the driver so that I can wire direct to my amps cutting out connections and letting me not worry about speaker wire. My intention is to velcro my TA mono blocks to the rear of the speaker and run long interconnects. It has been great having choice and consultation regards every aspect of the build. I am looking forward to getting them up and running.

Make sure you isolate the amp's from the speakers. Sounds like a good plan

I have had TA monos and mini ts velcroed to my spendors for a couple of years without any detrimental effect I can detect. Long ICs and battery power. Makes for a nice clean set up with only the dac/pre and v-link on show. Steve confirmed my front end should work well with Frugals. The bespoke aspect has been a real selling point and has great to get my good ladies input and approval.

OK, I hear from a reliable source we are having the bake off that never happened a few weeks ago on the 25th 13:00 GMT, and my source told me John will be wearing lipstick! Have I missed something? I'll be bringing a friend who is a paediatric doctor but his first degree was in electrical engineering and he had a couple of jobs in the field before he jacked it in and pursued the medical profession. He is primarily interested in Steve's speakers but is just looking forward to hearing some good music.

Steve has given me a wee progress update...the woodwork is finished!!! I was given the option of different end finishes-the edge of the wood either highlighting the ply construction or linear with the exterior. I plumped for the ply finish because to me it looked nicer/more organic. My good lady bought a lovely TV rack for the front room a couple of years ago-lo and behold it has the same finish and near as dammit colour. Ive stripped my hi-fi back in preparation for them-minimalist set up with maximised sound!!!

Maybe the balanced mains unit or the that special power amp you got that created pure music on Steve system
