For the past few weeks I've been enjoying listening to my son dipping his toes into the Beethoven Piano Sonatas, thanks to my mother's fine supply of old piano sheet music!
This has made me think I really ought to find a complete recording for my collection.
Did an initial bit of research and have selected Kovacevich, Brendel and Levit for comparison.
Anyone have any personal favourites?

None of those!
As it happens, I'm listening to Buchbinder on RCA atm.
He's got a new cycle on DG coming out in September. There's a full series of albums by Martin Roscoe that I enjoy a lot
On fortepiano Brautigam is wonderful
Loads of other single albums for individual sonatas, of course.

And I've a real fondness for Barenboim's first set, on EMI. His later sets on DG are a bit stodgy in comparison.
And well worth exploring Robert Benz's albums

Thanks Jerry - the Brautigam does look very interesting and will add that to the comparison. Can't resist a period instrument in the right hands!
