Well I have to admit that I have been a bit of a silly billy!!! 
I have just purchased a previously used SONNETEER SEDLEY USB MM/MC Phono Stage on another forum, primarily so I can digitise some of my LP's and downsize the ever growing LP collection, I need to loose at least 300-400 of them, it will be a painful exercise. Anyway I suddenly realised that I had not connected my MacBook Pro directly to the Beresford Caiman SEG DAC by USB cable, I know don't ask I just put it down to pure brain fart, or that I am lazy and like sitting in the listening chair surfing the net on the computer.
Anyway part of the reason do so was to revisit Audirvana with Qobuz and to listen this month album choice 'Fotheringay', so I connected it up with the only USB cable I have for the purpose which is a cheap printer one, and press play. OMG what a revelation, 'Fotheringay' file resolution is 24/96Khz and it sounds superb, lots of detail, lovely resolution, separation and depth, possibly the best I have heard digital through my system.
I have ordered an AudioQuest Cinnamon USB Type A to Type B Data Cable as everyone says that a better USB improves things as well and its not too pricey, so that will be interesting. From know on streaming for listening will be done from the MacBook/Audirvana with USB, general casual listening will be wifi with Volumio.
I have yet to decide on the Audiolab 6000CDT or 8300CDQ, could it be that I should just stick with my existing DAC or simplify the set up with 8300CDQ
