( Finding my around the site at the mo., so trust I'm doing this right... Intro post and in the right arena....)
G'day from Dublin.
Like us all, I'm always keen to find that extra little tweak / unit that will make our systems sing...
Looking forward to plenty of reading, and advice. If I've anything of benefit to add, I'll try and throw my 2 cents into the mix....
Dave

Hi, Dave, and welcome. Can you give us a quick rundown of your system, and what sort of music you like?

System built up at various stages over the years, as I fell in and out of listening, and various opportunities for buying presented ..... Have my Speakers the longest.....DMS Isobariks, Had to replace the front-facing tweeters, as inquisitive fingers did a bit of pushing in.... Would have liked the PMS version, but opportunities over here few and far between. They're driven by a MAC7200. Bought not too long ago, as a dependable, reliable control centre, that would do me 'til end of days......(how foolish that thought was...) Feeding the amp is a Moon 260D which is still being "broken-in" and getting nicer the more I listen to. Also, for streaming, I've an Azur 851N used on occasion. For easy access, I've an AudioEngine bluetooth also feeding into the McIntosh. My TT is awaiting attention, as in bad need of TLC. (an old LP12, with basic arm ) Mains handling is via a Puritan 150, which seemed to clean up low level shash. Using home-built Canare 4S11 cables, and vaious optical/RCA/XLR cables-----nothing exotic.
Music is MOR / old-school but am always open to well recorded CDs.
I see the Chord SPM1200E is ( was ? ) used by a number of senior members here....... Anyone like to comment on how it should be compared to the McIntosh? I'm toying with the idea of buying one (5 years old I'm told) for comparison. Would need to import, as not too many available in Ireland. D'ye think it would be a significant improvement?

Lovely Isobariks They will let through an awful lot of good music when you upgrade PMS means you need a few more amps of course !
I had a Chord driving my Isobariks doing a better job than a Naim 500 Belles will also give very good results. No idea on the McIntosh though

The Chord SPM-1200E is a good amp, the Belles SA-100 even better for similar money. If you're looking for used, then the Belles will be a problem as they're quite rare.
