Big changes coming in Pro bike racing this year with a stunning amount of incredibly good riders already around and coming up through the ranks.
Many teams have taken big steps up and Ineos (was Sky) don't have it all their own way by any means.
When I first started watching back in the late 80s it seemed like watching paint dry and you may watch it briefly and think the same.
Not so
Riders and teams are on the case fully, before, during and after. With close on 200 riders there is always something going on.
The commentary team can deliver what is going on even if it looks like a bunch of blokes on bikes, dawdling along.
Nope. Average Speed on Flat Ground: 25-28 mph - all day long.
For the interested, casual TV viewer we have the Giro, Tour of Italy highlights starting next Saturday.
Last year's winner was a big surprise not just to us but also Tao Geoghegan Hart himself.
(Born in Holloway, raised in Hackney. His father, Tom, is a builder with Scottish and Irish ancestry, and the name "Tao" means "Tom" in Irish Gaelic)
He was there as support until Geraint Thomas crashed out.
Commentary team on Europsort and Quest leaves much to be desired so not ideal, especially if you are new to cycling.
Way better, and the best team I have ever had the pleasure to witness is the ITV4 bunch.
Gary Imlach, Ned Boulting, David Millar and likely to have Daniel Friebe, Matt Rendell, former Team Sky rider Peter Kennaugh and hopefully Chis Boardman
These guys are at a different level and lay out strategies, tactics, analyses that are easy to understand even if occasionally very complicated.
Catch the highlights or watch whole stages live on the Tour
Criterium du Dauphine Highlights: 30 May - 6 June
Tour de France Live & Highlights: 26 Jun - 18 July
