A comfortable 4/5 from me. The playing is terrific - Brian Hughes in particular is a rather tasty guitarist. He doesn't over-embellish, and he's got a great tone going on - and Caroline Lavelle has a decent set of pipes on her. The only slightly off-putting thing, for me at least, is that I'm used to my Celtic-folk-rock sung with a "proper" English, or Irish voice and a couple of the tracks (When I Was On Horseback, and Lady Howard in particular) were crying out for a Maddie Prior, or even a Kate Rusby interpreting them. What makes it even worse (for me) is that Caroline Lavelle is actually English, but she doesn't enunciate the lyrics the way I'd have preferred hearing them on those songs.
It's just a personal thing. I've got a lot of British folk/folk-rock music in my collection and I enjoy the genre.

I didn't want to big Brian Hughes up too much as a guitarist but I think he's terrific.
Have you seen Loreena McKennitt's live concert video Nights from the Al Hambra, Paul? It's all round fabulous, with some great solos from Hughes.

Ok, I switched the ultraRendu to Spotify Connect mode and have been listening. This is good, really good. Having recently sampled a Caroline Lavelle solo album, I already like her voice. The accompaniment is sympathetic and the whole feels very nice to listen to. Very Celtic, in a good way.
4/5.

I've bookmarked the YouTube page that concert is on, and I'll try to give it a listen sometime soon, Jerry.

The jury's out on this one for me at the moment, my favourite song was 'Winds and Shadows", I found some of the material rather similar and in parts it seemed to drag, and the overall feel of the album was rather dark(but maybe that was intended). The artists are obviously very accomplished musicians but I am not sure about the synergy, it reminded me of something but can think what at the moment. I will give it another listen and try and decide one how I feel about it.

I have had another listen and whilst I enjoy some of it, it just did not quite hit the I must have another listen spot. I think it was her voice mainly I did not like, I found it a little dull I suppose. Sorry Jerry it isn't terrible just a 3/5 from me.
