What are you hoping it does Martin?

The same as it did for my previous BG7TBL clock. Enhanced clock properties such as soundstage, dynamics and fine detail.

The sides are 20mm long?
Do you glue them to the clock?
What's your thinking of what it does for the clock?

Yes - all documented in my blog here: theaudiostandard.net/post/198236/threadI epoxy glued it to the OCXO clock module. You could try something less permanent, I didn't worry about going backwards. The cube has two separate effects: 1. tungsten is heavy and has good damping properties, reducing the vibrations reaching the sensitive clock 2. the cube provides thermal stability by being warmed up by the OCXO oven, provided it is insulated on the outside

Well, that idea didn't work. Upon disassembling the AD clock, the board is mounted on high posts, unlike the BG7TBL, so there is not the clearance available for the 20mm cube or even a 10mm one. No matter, my time wasn't wasted as I put some more heat insulation in there before closing up. I have another idea for the tungsten block

Spill the beans you Tungsten Devil.. Not yet, going to see if it's feasible first. Staggered again today at how good my system sounds, so not in any hurry.

I've just put some heat insulation in my 1st AfterDark clock (the King) and I swear the system sounds a little better with both having been done.
As previously stated, there is precious little clearance above the OCXO so I used two strips of sheet fibre wadding and pushed them in either side of the small circuit board. The OCXO already has the same bitumen-like damping sheet over the module as I have used for the car and I have left that well alone.
I imagine there is an improvement due to either a) improved thermal stability or b) reduced resonance inside the case, or a combination of both.
Well worth doing and only takes a few minutes.

Interesting Martin, l know Rodders had success damping and shielding his LB. Something l should do when l get time. l would imagine that a FMC would benefit with similar mods, damping and shielding.
A great new that your AD has improved via a simple mod..

Is there any link where I can see the inside of an Afterdark Giesemann clock? I can´t find one.
Thank you

Is there any link where I can see the inside of an Afterdark Giesemann clock? I can´t find one. I have opened both of mine for insertion of some fibre damping material, but I did not take a photo, sorry.
