I want to share a story I co run a Community Connecting Group that runs across a few services in London. It had a range of workers and is run with a light touch but plenty of reflection from the co-facilitators It is something I wanted to create years ago and was started just before the pandemic. When the pandemic nearly everything closed creating a meaningful community based activity became almost impossible. People still needed a service but apart from activities like litter picking in a park with the right equipment. We invited people from the community to be part of the group One of this people ran a food bank. When she explained her service I knew I had a client who would be a perfect fit. So I had the client I worked with on a Wednesday to help out at the foodbank. He is a good worker but he needs direction in order to channel this. For me it is starting to change the narrative in which we see people that need support, helping others less fortunate than they are.

One of the gifts that the pandemic gave me was changing my breathing habits. Quite a few of my friends have also done this weather it something like Wim Hoff breathing technique some kind of yogic breathing or in my case deep circular breathing. For me it really help with the chaos of what been going on and just helped me not to feel overwhelmed by the events that were taking place open.spotify.com/episode/20IoFY7dQC41C8SKbnhMln?si=GpvuLJb2S-SjNpXeYjVDGQ

Something that seems to have increased since the pandemic is posts on Twitter giving ten or twelve phone numbers for the The Samaritans and their overseas counterparts, with a reminder that you need never feel that you're completely alone, and a request for 10 followers to share the post. It takes a few seconds to share, and it might possibly be the difference between life and death to someone somewhere in the world.

In my job I work for a community interest company part of being a community interest company is that we give back to society from the profits we make. Right now we are running a online training course helping professionals to gain and practise skills for people going through Bereavement. The group is diverse I helped out with setting it up and also helping when it comes to practising counselling skills as I used to volunteer for CRUSE as a bereavement Counsellor. All this is offered free to the public A lot of hours has gone into making this happen and hopefuly this makes a real difference to the quality of support being offered.

Thanks John Watched these. Good points raised and great health tips The length of the programmes in typical YouTube stylie is too much and they talk a lot before we get the point/s If one is starting from scratch not so bad, still long winded though The people that need to watch these are unlikely to ever do so
I like bullet points or headlines where you can drill down for more info if you need to. Not readily available that I can find
