It was wonderful yesterday to just sit and chill with a couple in our garden who have been friends for most of our lives. The sun was out, it was a glorious day and we had no agenda except to catch up with not having seen each other for well over a year.
Next Saturday I will have a tiny rendezvous with two car mates at a coffee shop with plenty of parking for us to catch up over a coffee or three outside.
What have others been doing to restore the huge vacuum left by the pandemic?

Nowhere near that yet here in Germany. Curfew 22:00 - 05:00 in Brandenburg - not that I was planning on going clubbing anyway!

I've realised what an anti social item I am. This last year has been fine for me

Nothing as yet. I still treat every person I meet as the one who might kill me and vice versa. I don't think it's safe to do anything else right now and firmly believe things are going to worsen again because people's guards are coming down too fast.

I do the same and agree with you, Chris. We need to remain vigilant.
In yesterday's case, we've all had the vaccine and are required to test twice weekly.

Not that they deliberately want to kill you / us They just don't care anywhere near enough <teenager mode> It's boring It's too hard I do wonder if this winter might be the worst for the world

The first thing we did was to drive out of London for a fabulous walk and takeaway homemade cake from a favourite cafe - it was blissful, the fresh air and sense of freedom.

I saw a Tweet on Saturday that said a group of six lads had been spotted roaming around Brighton carrying a table. They were, apparently, setting the table down outside various pubs and then going in to get drinks.

But we're lucky enough to live where other folks come on holiday to, so no, it's not been a problem. Other than losing an old school friend and a cousin.

What have others been doing to restore the huge vacuum left by the pandemic? Sounds perfect. And something that been on my mind in fact. I've experienced too much solitude in the last two years and have seen the consequences of it. I've come to feel like an actual ghost in society, which also has a toll. I hope not to go too off topic here but I've decided to travel to California this summer to try a drug called Ayahuasca with a shaman, after watching an interview between 2 comedians Neil Brennan and Andrew Santino. Brennan took the Ayahuasca and said it changed him completely. A need for prescription medications that he took his whole life. Gone. Atheism. Gone. Trying to control outcomes too much. Gone. And he told stories of other people's transformations. I'd love to reconnect with old friends and experience this wonderful gift we have as people.
