I'm very happy with not a lot - as long as I have music. That means the system, please
The recent problems in Texas have focussed a lot of thoughts including mine.
Battery power is one answer. An alternative front end to feed it like PV panels, ground source or air source, wind power probably not for us If the gas is still on we cannot fire up the boilers to run the heating or hot water so useful for that too
What else might there be ?

Tesla batteries may be your best bet, charging them with off-peak power.
A generator if you really wanted emergency power to keep heating, lighting and the system going.

Just worked that out Wonder if they can be adapted...
Looking around IKEA are doing house batteries and a few companies are in on doing batteries with or without solar panels

All my headphones work from my phone. Sorted. Would certainly be OK for a couple of days before recharge needed.
I always have a few albums downloaded, if I knew problems were on the way, I could download a bunch more. And fully charge my batteries.

... and I've a 5V power bank which would probably keep the phone recharged for weeks!

Good wheeze Jerry
Is that files on the phone, streaming or a file server ?

Files on my phone downloaded from my streaming service of choice. Most/all of Spotify /Qobuz etc provide functionality to do this. I make use of this quite frequently on solo hikes when I can be well away from a decent Internet service. Just load up a few albums I fancy at home, put on my trusty Sennheiser AE2 headphones (my portable cans of choice), and off I go.

That has potential at least to be illegal doesn't it ? Not if the streaming service allows it. They vary according to your subscription.

Nothing illegal about it AFAIK. It's part of the service you pay for with the streaming companies. It's all set up to make it organised and easy, just one icon to tap on and the album downloads onto your device.
