Anyone bought this? my original 1971 copy has reached the stage where it needs to be retired from constant play. I have the CD but its crap to be honest, hollow sounding and lacks punch

There are two current versions - MOV and Back To Black. I'm sure the MOV uses a digital source and the B to B likely. I would look for a minty original, the USA MCA 'heavy vinyl' (1995?) or Classic Records 200g pressings. Non are inexpensive to buy now.
The current Back to Black appears to be a picture disc but there are still black vinyl versions for sale. The OOP Classic Records pressing is currently $150 at Acoustic Sounds. Best sound - Original UK Track or Classic 200 grm. There are still copies of the 3LP deluxe edition around but I would avoid on pressing and sound quality grounds unless you want the extra live material.
Beware - I've also spotted an Ebay seller with what appears to be a fake Simply Vinyl pressing (round sticker/plastic sleeve).

Regarding used copies, it's one of those albums that is so good that its actually tricky to find a decent sample as they've all been played so much.

There are a couple copies on Ebay at present that look like they will go fairly cheap and on the face of it are decent shape. In the end for playing condition you are reliant on the skill and honesty of the grading. If its crap start a dispute and return for a refund. You can get the MCA Heavy Vinyl for under £30 usually from US sellers. Second best to Classic and first UK presses.

I managed to grab a good original copy on vinyl from a charity shop in Guildford.
