Just looked. Came out in 1970 when I would have been 13. I thought it was awesome. 50+ years on , and I find it's still just as awesome. Perhaps more so with this live version.

Hey, it's Joe Bonnamassa, teaching us stuff. No further excuses required. I love the way he casually mentions he's playng a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop, and then doesn't casually mention that if you wanted to buy one similar to his you'd need to be prepared to pay in the region of £50K - £65K Although the guitar in this one looks similar, it's a Gibson Custom Shop Collector's Choice #12 '57 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue, and will only set you back around £7K, if you can actrually find one. The guitars in this last one are just ridiculous.

Don't you just love how easy he makes that look?

Don't you just love how easy he makes that look? That short track is like pure, distilled Gilmour to me. I've got similar Gibson pickups on my new Les Paul. All I need to do next is work out how he gets that signature sound. Of course, it all rather falls down when I try to play like him...

There is no such thing as too much David Gilmour.

And now for something completely different.
It's easy to spot his classical training in many of his solos.
